Scientific Interests
My scientific research concerns in general the understandig of biological processes from the physical point of view. I am especially interested in the understanding of life itself. That includes also topics like

Up to now we cannot say what makes living systems so special although a number of properties are known that are characteristic for living systems like metabolism or self-reproduction.

For the understanding of science (or general for understanding) it is very important also to know the original discovery of the theories by their original authors and therefore I am also very much interested in

because the original papers, article and books are often more clear. For example I am very interested in the original articles by Ludwig Boltzmann or Rudolf Clausius. From orginal paper one often learn something which is not taught anywhere else and a better understanding is the result.
